What is  Cranial Spinal integration (CSi)and where did it begin?

Brain health and healing messages leave the brain by way of the brain stem, pass though the neck, down the spinal cord and out over the entire nervous system to all parts of the body. These messages control, maintain and monitor all body functions.  Csi is an avanced blend of cranial, spinal and dural/meningeal technique that relax the dura, balance the brain hemispheres and restore alignment to the body.  It is steeped in a rich history or chiropractic, osteopathic and sport's therapy, however it is backed by solid research.  The cranial aspects of CSi owes its beginning to the works of Dr. Nephi Cottam, DC (1883-1966) and Dr. William Garner Sutherland, DO (1873-1954).  Csi is a breakthrough, holistic, powerful system which help restore the body’s ability to heal itself and maintain optimum health.

What did they discover?

There is movement between the 22 bones of the head, and this involuntary movement occurs throughout your lifetime.  It is like a rhythmic opening and closing around the joints between these bones.

The skull, the home of the brain, contains 80% of our nervous system. The purpose of the brain and nervous system is to control and coordinate the functions of all the tissues, organs and systems in the body and to adapt the organism to its environment.

The cerebrospinal pump that pushes the spinal fluid throughout the central nervous system beats about 12 times a minute.  This pumping action bathes all the cells with nutrients and removes the wastes created by the millions of chemical reactions in every cell.

The Dura Mater

One of the most critical aspects of the cranial structure is a lining that attaches to the inner surface of the skull. This lining is known as the dura mater, which means “tough mother” in Latin because it is the toughest tissue in the body. It is critical to every aspect of life because it overs every single nerve throughout the body!!!.  In orderfor the nervouse syste to functio properly, this soft tissue MUST be free of distortion, contraction and obstruction.  This dura protects the soft tissue of the brain from the bones of the skull and vertebra and forms a protective sheath throughout the nervous system.  CSi is able to reach a far deeper level of cranial and spinal integration than any other procedure!

What Should I Expect?

The  CSi procedure is approximately 3 minutes long.  There is no jerking, popping or thrusting. Many people say it feels like a stretch, some feel more relaxed and others feel a general sense of well being.

Conditions Benefited by CSi

In many cases, people with very chronic and entrenched problems have responded well to their CSi corrections.

Some conditions treated with CSi include:

  • Fatigue
  • Low Energy
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Parkinson's
  • Sports Injuries
  • Balance Disorders
  • Improved Performance!
  • Chronic Pain, Stiffness and Numbness
  • Headaches, Migraines, Tension  Headaches
  • Stomach Disturbances
  • Irritable Bowel Disorders
  • Stress  and Depression
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Tinnitus
  • ADD/ADHD
  • Sciatica, Neck and Back
  • Female Disorders
